Carlsbad beach and village

Day 1

According to Google this trip should have taken me 5 hours and 48 minutes. Right... insert nod.
Not me, 6 1/2 hours from Arizona.
We like coffee and tea. Oh before I forget fill up on gas before arriving in California. Coming from Arizona it saves us about 40 cents a gallon.

We are staying at Carlsbad Inn
This is our 4th time. We get the one bedroom, and it has a kitchen and living room. Just across the street from one of the prettiest beaches (my opinion) in Southern California.
Love this resort for its location and grounds.

Dont be mesmerized just yet. To make this a polished relaxing week there is a bit of work to do.
Go straight to Costco once you unpack. Of course I had a list. Our goal for the week was breakfast, lunch, snacks. 2 dinners and drinks. The rest we will go out to dinner. Maybe :)
I do love to cook. The Costco is about 5 miles away. Dont take the freeway. Instead take Carlsbad Blvd. Turn right leaving the resort look for Palamor airport road, merge left and continue on. Costco will be on the right. Unless you don't eat chicken. Head straight back and to the left. Get your cooked rotisserie. Then pick up a kale salad mix, or caesar, whichever. That's dinner. Then continue shopping. Lunch meat. Fruit  veggies. Eggs. Etc. We even got 2lbs of shrimp. All for 79$. Our total for both stores 140$.
Trader Joe's is off of innovation road use GPS for this. There are 3 in the area. This is easy to get to. They also sell your dairy, and alcohol. They sell Titos.  Now go back to your report, have a drink and dinner, and get on the beach for sunset.
Remember this fabulous resort gives you a movie card to borrow one a day. Like a red box. This is included in your resort fee. Enjoy see you on the beach for the next day.
